Can you believe that these are a sweet dessert that are completely dairy free, gluten-free, and vegan? These are our Oven Baked Stuffed Pears and your guests are going to love how sweet and flavorful these are. The best part about these are how simple they are to make - all you need are pears, oats, ghee/butter, coconut sugar, cinnamon, and maple syrup. They are all pantry staples that you would have already besides the pears - making your life even easier.
When we were planning this menu we wanted to ensure we not only made most of the meals allergen friendly, but seasonal. Pears are in season so you can expect these to be even sweeter or fresher than normal. Please feel free to make these for your guests or for yourself one night you feel like having something sweet but want something easy to make. Also, you can pair the pears with French vanilla ice cream if you'd like - the warm and hearty flavor of the baked pears pairs perfectly with ice cream. Let's get to the recipe!
Yields: 4
Portion: 1 pear
Prep time: 15 minutes
Total time: 40 minutes
This recipe is dairy free, gluten free, and vegan.
Ingredients:
2 pears, chopped into halves vertically
½ cup GF oats
¼ cup ghee or butter, melted
¼ cup coconut sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp maple syrup
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven: preheat the oven to 375. Have the pears chopped.
2. Prep the pears: grab a mixing bowl or pyrex bowl. Gently remove the insides of the pears and add them to the mixing bowl.
3. Add the rest: add the oats, ghee/butter, coconut sugar, cinnamon, and maple syrup to the bowl. Mix the contents well. If you'd like them to be sweeter, add more maple syrup. Set aside.
4. Bake: grab the pears and add onto a baking sheet. Fill each pear half with the oat mixture. Evenly distribute. Bake in the oven until the pears are soft and the oats are crispy.
5. Serve: gently remove the pears from the oven and allow them to cool for 5 minutes. Serve on a plate and feel free to pair with a French vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
